Three Features of a Tuff Transfer

One of the key ways we demonstrate that is by applying innovative and creative ideas when designing our conveyor transfers. Here are three primary pieces of evidence that our transfers provide the quality and strength our customers deserve:
1. Torsion Bar Design
Our torsion bar design is a replacement for the typical air/pneumatic design application. Typically, with air actuation transfers, the air is never distributed evenly or simultaneously across the entire transfer. Therefore, certain points of the machine are actuated at different times. This not only can cause damage to the product being transported but can also cause the transfer itself to wear out more quickly.
The torsion bar design eliminates all of that. Its continuous pivot design allows the entire transfer to be actuated at the same time with the same speed, which enables the transfer to remain level through actuation, as well as its numerous cycles. Inevitably, this decreases stress on different components like rubber fittings, belts, chains, or bearings, which would need to be replaced once they’ve worn out.
Enabling the transfer to remain level through actuation also provides benefits to the product being transported. If the transfer raises unevenly, it can cause the product to tip or be unstable. In some cases, and to a certain degree, this can cause the product to fall over in transition. The torsion bar design prevents this from happening.
2. Maintenance Access
When it comes to custom material handling equipment, periodic maintenance is inevitable. We keep that in mind when designing all of our equipment, and our transfers are no exception. Tuff engineers design our transfers with the customer’s maintenance department in mind.
Therefore, our transfers are designed with open frame slots for easy access for anyone performing maintenance. We strive to empower our customers to have the ability to provide the maintenance that material handling equipment requires. Having easy access to the maintenance components that we listed earlier allows for decreased downtime, and therefore, a decreased maintenance cost to our customer’s production.
3. Premium Components
Lastly, as we continue to provide evidence that quality and strength is our highest priority, we can’t write this newsletter without mentioning our premium components. As we said above, the maintenance of material handling equipment is inevitable. However, we manufacture and fabricate our transfers with the highest quality premium components to ensure that the maintenance required is at an all-time low.
It’s easy to understand that low-quality components wear out faster, but they are also more of a pain to work with. These premium components, along with the easy access maintenance slots, allow for quicker and more effective maintenance procedures.
